What do looked after young people, and the social workers that support them, feel about the care process and mental health services? A striking set of images from a recent report from mental health charity YoungMinds offers a fascinating insight.
As part of YoungMinds’ exploration of mental health stigma and looked after young people (download the full report here), they asked young people to share their feelings about being in care and express them using (among other things) playmobil, plasticine and their own creativity. They also asked adults working with looked after young people to share their observations.
The results, some of which were highlighted in a presentation at Community Care Live yesterday by Roger Catchpole, Training and Development manager at YoungMinds, are really powerful. Thanks to YoungMinds for allowing me to share them here.
