Two charities, Mobility Choice and the Disabled Photographers’ Society, are inviting keen photographers who have disabilities to enter a new competition aiming to showcase the top talent that’s out there.

Photographers can enter the ‘On the move’ competition in one of three age categories – under 12s, 12 to 18, and over 18. The deadline for entries is October 31st 2012 – you can download entry forms and see full prize details here.

Winning and shortlisted photos will be showcased at events in Birmingham and London next year.

This is the second year the competition has run. Last year Nigel Holldan’s shot of a motorbike won the over-18s prize (pictured above).

“This was the first competition I have entered so I was especially thrilled to win,” Nigel said. “Drag racing is a big passion and I was trying to get a good panning shot. This is not easy to achieve with my disability so I am delighted it pleased the judges.”

Henry Butt won last year’s under-18s category with this image of a wave crashing against a pier.

Good luck to all those who enter.
